10,000BC
I was Head of Modelling for 10,000BC while working at MPC, London. The project involved building fullscreen digial doubles of the hero actors, a lifesize wooly mammoth, and a number of extensive full cg environments. The film was a bit underwhelming, but the project was actually pretty cool to work on. The digi doubles at the time were at the cutting edge, and the hair on the wooly mammoth was pretty spectacular. The environment builds took a huge amount of time. The main pyramid sets were shot using live scale miniature sets. The asset team then extended the sets, added thousands of digi doubles, mammoths, and props to bring the world to life. The team at MPC was truly world class. This was a massive project and loads of really talented people help create some truly amazing assets.
